I have a Peugeot 307 1.4 HDI (year 2004, Europe) that started this morning but right now it doesn't want to start. What do I mean by that? Well, by turning the key the engine cranks but it doesn't run so I can keep doing this until the battery voltage goes under 11V.
One of the common issues with the Peugeot 307 Phase 2 is the failure of the ECU, which is the engine control unit. This can lead to problems with starting the car, misfiring, or even complete engine failure. Another common issue is with the suspension system, which can cause knocking noises and uneven wear on the tires.
Replies. Try jump starting it from another car because it sounds like the battery has gone bad. If as suggested , it starts with a jump start , get battery load tested / replaced as needed.Could also check alternator out put to be safe if battery .
When it fails to start, the engine turns over fine, but it doesn't keep going and the engine light comes on. It will consistently fail to start from that point onwards. until I press the gas a bit while turning the key. Then it fires up fine, and runs without issue and the engine light goes outfor another few days until it happens next!
